Wisdom From the World

In moments of discouragement, defeat or even despair there are always certain things to cling to.  Little things usually: remembered laughter, the face of a sleeping child, a tree in the wind-in fact, any reminder of something deeply felt or deeply loved.  No man is so poor as not to have many of these small candles.  When they are lighted, darkness goes away – and a touch of wonder remains.  – Arthur Gordon

To live is to suffer. To survive is to find some meaning in the suffering. – Roberta Flack

You can handle almost anything in life if you know that there is a purpose behind it.  That’s the real key.  Pain is hard to handle if you don’t see any purpose in it.  When you understand there is a purpose, then you can handle a lot of stuff. –  Rick Warren

Our hope is Jesus, we trust Him and all He is doing-in all that we understand and, more importantly, in all we do not. – Hope Heals, Katherine and Jay Wolf

Wisdom From the Word

Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed not deficient in any way.

If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought” – James 1: 2-7 (The Message.)

“Whatever I have, whatever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.” – Philippians 4:13

Keep Me Real, Lord!
Dear Lord, in all that I am called to face in life and in my marriage, please help me to keep my eyes focused on you and who you want me to become. Even in the midst of the tragic please transform me into a person who is radiant with your love. Help me to understand your purpose behind my problem.
