Wisdom From the World
“Keep love in your heart. A life without love is like a sunless garden where the flowers are dead.” – Oscar Wilde
“None are more hopelessly flawed than those who falsely believe they are free.” – Johann Wolfgang Van Goethe
“The 20th century man has taken the fig leaf from his genitals and put it on his face.” – Rollo May
Wisdom From the Word
“If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy, but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all His mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump”, and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing.
If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.” – I Corinthians 13:1-3 (The Message)
“So if the Son (Jesus Christ) sets you free, you are free indeed.” – John 8:36 (the Message)
Keep Me Real, Lord!
“Lord help me to discern truth from lies in the propaganda about love that permeates our culture. When my self-centeredness shows up, help me to be painfully aware of it. Help me truly understand that I am only free when I love, really love another.
Help me to be motivated by love in the words I choose and the actions I take. Transform me into a conscious lover! Amen!
